Ive played that way too, the best way in my opinion is to capo on the 7th fret, and play E and A...

Um... yeah... I'm sure it is a B chord. Hence the capo on the 2nd fret. That way you can play the A chord, but it's really a B chord. But I don't think Waylon done it that way.

And as for the capo on the 7th fret suggestion... Why would anyone put a capo that high up? For me it is extremely uncomfortable. I never capo above the 4th fret, and I almost never capo above the 3rd.

Sounds good with Capo on 2nd fret and dropped D tunning, so when you go from A(B) to playing D(E) you still have a rich bass for the beat...
