needs a lot more work -thethethe | 8/25/2003 |
This song is played in "E", "A", and "B7". If you want to play it like Willie. Who rated this a 10 anyway ? -pepperdawg | 8/25/2003 |
Yup E,A,B. You want to pick out the basslines as you play if ya want that signature Willie sound. This key allows you to do that pretty easily. -Strummer | 3/3/2004 |

it aint right or close to right it sucks -j.p | 10/25/2004 |
Nowhere near a 10. sorry -tzen | 2/6/2005 |
This doesn't suck, its just been transposed into the key of D, not like the original but easier on the vocals. I play it both ways depends on how my voice is on that particular night. Some of the chords are wrong but just re-arrange, the B is not in there at all, I'll agree to that. Also you can still get the bass walk down in this key too. -zunl | 3/20/2005 |
ya'll at this website are supposed to be country folks aint ya? so quit being so rude. Nice try on tabbin this song. yeah, it is a bit off but we all make mistakes. keep on trying! -lilgeetar | 6/2/2005 |
Its originally played in the key of E, for those who know nothing of chords and keys, lol -KJ_CHRIS | 7/25/2005 |
hmmmm... judging by this string of comments, maybe country tabs should make a "transposing 101" section of the website. come on folks, if people want to hear the exact key the artist sang the song in they can buy the album. musicians transpose songs into the key that fits their voice best. it doesnt mean the tab is "way off", it means everyone cant sing in that key. before posting an abusive comment, try taking a music theory lesson. incidentally, i played the song with this progression before i wrote this comment, and while there are a couple chords in there that dont exactly fit, there's nothing to get nasty about. just find the right chords, play it, and move on. that is, if you're enough of a musician to do it. -bronc74 | 10/30/2005 |
this is so WRONG check ur tuning or stop making tabs -peddroo2004 | 12/7/2005 |
This is the key that I sing the song in. I've got a very deep voice, exactly opposite of Willie's, and I can't even hope to hit the notes that he does. With the exception of the B chord, it's correctly transposed, I've played it this way for a long time, and the bassline is easy enough to follow along with as well. -GrWylde | 2/1/2006 |
(E) (A) (E) in the twilight glow i see (B7) (E) blue eyes cryin' in the rain...
Everyone seems to ignore that little pass thru the fourth. try it next time, you'll feel good. -guitarheroe | 11/19/2009 |
