One of the coolest things in guitar solos (in my opinion) is
called a "turnaround". That is when you bring the solo back
to the tonic and resolve the theme. I can guarantee that
you will recognize most, if not all of these...
1. Key of "A" (determined by 1st note on 4th string)
e ---5-----5-----5-----5------------------------
b ----------------------------------------------
g ------------------------------5---6---7-------
d -7---7-5---5-4---4-3---3-2~---4---5---6-------
a ------------------------------5---6---7-------
E ----------------------------------------------
2. Key of "E" (determined by "D" chord shape root on b str)
e ----4------3------2-------------------------
b ----------------------------2--3--4~--------
g --4---4--3---3--2---2--1~-------------------
d ----------------------------2--3--4~--------
a --------------------------------------------
E --------------------------------------------
3. Key of "A" (determined by note on 1st string)
e ------5-----5------5------0--------------
b ---------------------5~---5--------------
g --5h6---6h7----7h8--------7--------------
d --------------------------6--------------
a --------------------------7--------------
E -----------------------------------------
4. Key of "A" (based on "A Pentatonic Minor" scale)
e -------8---5---------------------3~-----
b -----x---------8-5---------------2~-----
g ---x---------------7---5-2---2---2~-----
d -x-------------------------5-----2~-----
a ---------------------------------0~-----
E ----------------------------------------
You can always play around with slinding into notes, bends, hammer-ons, pull-off, etc.
I'll try to post more later...
