Hey. I'm Lindsay! I guess you could just say music is my obsession. My family says I have been singing since I could talk. I don't know about that one, but its possible ;)
I have a very strange taste in music. I like all types of music, accept for rap, and the screaming stuff. Basically what I look for in a song is Good, Meaningful lyrics, and a matching melody. If the melody doesn't match with the lyrics what kind of music is that? My favorite band is "Tokio Hotel" And my 2 top favorite Female Vocalists of all time would be Tara Oram and Carrie Underwood. I am a BIG BIG fan of both.
I started to play Piano when I was about 8 years old. I liked it, but I didn't like practicing, and I ALWAYS would want to do my own stuff. Then I got a new piano teacher. And she would always get mad because when I came back after a week of "Practicing" I still would only know a couple of notes, sometimes not even that. So then she would teach me the song, and I would go home and play it for 15-20 minutes and by that time, I would have it memorized. So then when I went to piano lessons, I would pretend to look at the book, So it looked like I knew what I was looking at, but it turns out I never did. She knew that, I just thought she didn't. And she said I would never have a promising future with the Piano. So when I turned 11 I quit. Shows how much she knows. Now I can play anything I want to by simply hearing someone else and trying it out untill I get it, or just randomely figuring it out.
I started to play Guitar in February 2008. I was at a Jamboree and I saw a woman named Agnes Clinton play. And then right there at that moment I knew I wanted to play Guitar for the rest of my life. So I got a guitar from my cousin, and I got some cords from some random people, and now I can play guitar. No lessons needed. I can play anything I want. It might not be exactly it, but its to my liking. And now I am starting to save up for a Gibson Guitar, and an Amplifier.
"PLUG INTO MUSIC" GOT MY MUSIC UP AND GOING! In March 2008 I started going to a program down were I live called "Plug Into Music". In "Plug Into Music" you get help on writing songs, and playing your instrument. You get to be around other people who know what they're doing, and thats great if you ask me! And that is where the song "Rodeo" was created. Me and my friend randomely started to write a song calld "Rodeo" one day. I had the 3 first lines already made up. "I'm 16 and I'm fly. And I like cute kinda guys. And every friday I go to the Rodeo" Then my friend quit, and I got partnered up with my other friend. And we started writing a song. It took us 2 days to finish it. And now its a big hit with everyone in my family. It might even get sent to the Calgary Stampede this year! Now that would be an Honour. I am in the program again this year, and you'll NEVER guess who I get to meet! JOEL PLASKETT!!!!! That is extremely exciting to me!! And last year I got to meet Cheryl Gaudet, and this other guy, but I forget his name :S
