This is mostly correct, but try this for the Chorus:

pre>
Em D C
And the people who love me still ask me
Em D C
When are you coming back to town
G Am7
And I answer quite frankly
G/B C
When they stop building roads
G D G
And all God needs is gravity to hold me down
/pre>

yeah that is right

Thanks for the correction :D

Ron said he plays it tuned way down on his guitar. He tunes it B F# B F# B C#. He needed a new saddle, nut and bridge just for this song and Dan plays it in standard tuning. Just thought I'd pass this info on.

Glad to know I have to rebuild my rig :)
I really appreciate the hardwork that you all do. I have really improved playing along to songs I like and them actually sounding correct. I see so much criticism in the comments on other tunes, people get really bent out of shape, the way I look at it, they could try to tab them themselves. Keep up the good work. Mark

does anyone know the chords/tab ron plays in his tuning?
-malfoyxb | 2/21/2005
I prefer to play it with the capo on 2 (same key as the recording)
G becomes A
C becomes D
D becomes E
Em becomes F#m

also please try this for Chorus 2
F#m E D
And the people who love me still ask me
F#m E D
When are you coming back to town
A Bm
And I answer quite frankly
C#m D
When they stop building roads
A E F#m
And there aint no more highways to be found
A Bm
And I answer quite frankly
C#m D
When they stop buildin roads
A E A
And all God needs is gravity to hold me down

To Eboswald, I agree yours is the correct version. I've been playing it this way as well.(Capo 2, key of A) It has a much fuller sound, and lends itself to better transitions between chords. I highly recommend it.

Also, the beginning is as follows: E, D, A...then boogie!

To Emeraldeyes, In chorus 2:
G D Em
And there ain't no more highways to be found
(but you knew that)

I play it capo 2 also.. I only did it in G for beginning players... Someone who has been playing as long as you or I knows how to transpose it. Beginning players usually can't play the barre chords.
-EMRLDEYZS | 3/10/2005
Would it be a problem if on occasion one played it;

A D
And I answer quite frankly
A D
When they stop buildin roads

Instead of;

A Bm
And I answer quite frankly
C#m D
When they stop buildin roads

Sometimes, when I'm tired or trying to keep up with others, this gets me by. Any complaints?
