This is the way its played on the live CD.
With these chords you can play along.

Stay – Alison Krauss & Union Station
Allyson Tyler & Larry Byrom

Capo I – Key of Gb

F C Dm C Bb
Where have you been my long lost friend
F Gm C
It’s good to see you again
F C Dm C Bb
Come and sit for a while, I’ve missed your smile
F Gm C
Today the past is goodbye
Ab Gm F
Time can’t erase
Ab Gm F C
A Lover’s embrace
 	  	  	 Dm G
Can’t you hear it calling, a new day dawning
 	  	 Bb Ab Bb
You we’re longing to find

Love’s taken you far away from my arms
And I’ve been here all along
Have you’re eyes failed to find, what took you from mine
A vision that’s faded through time
But you sail away
Through a summer’s day
Cause you heard it calling, a new day dawning
You we’re longing to find

Chorus:
F C Dm F Bb
There is a way to make you stay
F Gm C
Darling don’t turn away
F C Dm F Bb
Don’t doubt your heart and keep us apart
F Ab Bb F
I’m right where you are… Stay

Solo

Chorus

Nice job, especailly for a 1st atimer.
You should look up who is the songwritter, and list them to be complete.
I'll rate you, assuming you add the songwritters.
Nice job.

i play this with a capo on three using the D chord. just walk down the root or bass notes of the chord and you will be closer to the album and live versions.

If you see the video, or on their DVD, Ron Block plays this in E Major with the capo on the second fret. This will give you the root of the chord as an open string in the bass. Otherwise, good job.
