‪Losing Side of Twenty-Five‬
Written by BJ Barham
Recorded by ‪American Aquarium‬

(Capo on 2)

Intro.: |(D) / (A)(G)| x 4

(D)All my (A)friends are (G)growing (D)up
Changing (A)pretty girls (G)last names
(D)I'm still finding (A)my way (G)Rolling down the (D)highway
Playing a much (A)younger mans (D) game

Solo: |(D) / (A)(G)| x 2

(D)Every (A)night we're (G)drink-(D)ing
In dive bars (A)and dance (G) halls
(D)They're all at that (A)age where (G)they're all having (D)babies
And picking out the (A)nursery coloured (D)walls

(Chorus 1)
(Bm) They all (A)ask me how I'm (G)doing
(Bm) I just (A)smile and real-(G)ize
That (D)although it was (A)kind to me My (G)youth is all be-(D)hind me
Now I'm on the (D)losing (G)side
The (D)losing (A)side of twen-(D)ty five

Solo: |(D) / (A)(G)| x 2

(D)Mom and (A)dad did the (G)best they (D)could
To raise me (A)the right (G) way
And I'll (D)lean more their (A)own, and I (G)started writing (D)songs
Thinking I had (A)something to (D)say

Solo: |(D) / (A)(G)| x 2

So (D)every (A)week at the (G)food (D)line
All the (A)other parents (G) boast
About (D)there kids gradu-(A)ating, getting (G)higher edu-(D)cations
In the big city (A)jobs that they (D) chose

(Chorus 2)
(Bm) My parents (A)asked me how I'm (G)doing
(Bm) I hang my (A)head and close (G)my eyes
They (D)say don't throw your (A)life away, (G)go and get a (D)job that pays
We love you and we (A)know that you (D) tried
The losing (A)side of twenty (D)five

Solo: |(D) / (A)(G)| x 2

Yeah, (D)I might (A)never have a (G)man-(D)sion
Hell, I might never (A)own me a (G)home
But I (D)got a couple of (A)songs, and some (G)boys that I call (D)friends
And a pretty girl that (A)I can call my (D) own

Solo: |(D) / (A)(G)| x 2

Yeah, (D)I might (A)never be a (G)million-(D)aire
That's al-(A)right by (G)me
'Cus I've (D)done the things I (A)wanted to, and (G)said the things I (D)needed to
And seen the things I (A)wanted to (D)see

(Chorus 3)
(Bm) When they all (A)ask me how I'm (G)doing
(Bm) I just (A)smile and real-(G)ize
There are (D)different roads to (A)happiness I (G)took a different (D)path I guess
Came out on the (A)other side just (D) fine
The losing (A)side of twenty (D) five

Solo: |(D) / (A)(G)| x 2

Yeah, there are (D)different roads to (A)happiness I (G)took a different (D)path I guess
Came out on the (A)others side just (D) fine
The losing (A)side of twenty (D) five -----

Good tab but the line "every week at the food line" is actually "Every week at the Food Lion," it's a grocery store chain in the south.
