Lesson In A Bottle
By Blackberry Smoke
Tabbed By Larry Mofle
I can't figure out the modulation of lines 1 and 3 in the Chorus but the chord fits...
There's a lesson in a bottle that never gets learned
Sweep out the ashes of the bridges that I've burned
white lines and wild times, passed out cold and left behind
D E A
Then I'm right back in the saddle again
There's a lesson in a bottle, bartender pour a shot
I'll have a whiskey, I believe it's my turn
There's a lesson in a bottle bartender pour a shot
D E A
I'll have a whiskey cause I'll never learn
Blue lights and fist fights one too many out all nights
like a freight train that's done run outta track
I've been a winner and a loser, sloppy drunk and a drug abuser
if I get through this, Lord I swear I'll cut way back
E D A
I'm a long, long way from where I was goin'
E D A
It's been a long, long time, my scars are sure showin'
But school's in session bring the liquor

|The song sounds like there's a capo on the 2nd fret. The cord forms are great! Thanks. Capo on the 2nd fret puts the song in the key of B. The verse cord progression is 1,6,4,5 and the chorus is 1,4,5. The bridge is reversed 5,4,1.|

|During the verse the 'A' chord on line 1 and 3 is actually A, A mjr7, A7 then the F♯m.|
Then on the chorus the A chord on line 1 and 3 is A, A/G♯ , A6 ( with F♯ played on the 4th fret of the D string), then instead of F♯m minor play G (F shape at 3rd fret). This gives a nice run on the bass line.
A/G♯ is an A chord but play the G♯ note on the 4th fret of the bottom E string.
The A chord with F♯ its not A/F♯ as the note is played an octave higher so its an A6
