Capo 1

F#m E
Amy's got the letters I wrote
D
My picture in a frame
F#m E
She's had a year to let go
D
She still wears my ring
F#m E D
It hasn't left her finger since the night that I proposed
F#m E D
When I promised her forever before I took her home
E F at m E
But I never made it home that night
D
A part of her died too
F#m E
I watched her losing her mind
D
And there's nothing I can do
F#m E D
Yea sometimes she goes crazy screaming out my name
F#m E
Saying baby please come and save me
D
I wish she knew I'd do anything

D E
To kiss the tears right off her face
                      F#m
Tell her everything's okay
                              E
Feel her heart beat next to mine
E
And make up for lost time
D
Oh but God I know I can't
E F#m
You can't let her live this way
                         E
It's too late for saving me
                                    F#m E D
But there's still hope for saving Amy

F#m E
Now 3 years have gone by
D
She's trying to live her life
      F#m E
And I still watch sometimes
D
Just to make sure she's alright
  F#m E
She knows I'll always be there
D
In her heart and in her dreams
F#m E D
God, I promised her forever and that's one promise I intend to keep

D E
To kiss the tears right off her face
                      F#m
Tell her everything's okay
                              E
Feel her heart beat next to mine
E
And make up for lost time
D
Oh but God I know I can't
E F#m
You can't let her live this way
                         E
It's too late for saving me
                                    F#m E D
But there's still hope for saving Amy

D E
I'll kiss the tears right off her face
                               F#m
When I walk her through these gates
                              E
Feel her heartbeat next to mine
                      D
Make up for lost time
                      E
God I thank you everyday
                                     F#m
For giving a her that *ounce* of faith
                                  E
That led her right back here to me
                               D
And most of all for saving Amy
E (It repeats the D E F#m E D progression for the outro)
Saving Amy

I'm going off of a live recording on youtube and I'm pretty positive his guitar his in drop D.
You can play normal chords just make sure your E (D) string is fretted a whole step up.

An E would turn into this:

E:-0----
B:-0----
G:-1----
D:-2----
A:-2----
D:-2----

But you don't have to have your guitar tuned down to make this song sound good.

Feel free to leave comments or even message me if you want to.

Enjoy!

Capo 3 and the F#m becomes a Em7 while the D becomes a Cadd9 and the E becomes a D. Sounds better to me but its just whatever you prefer. Great song by a great artist.

I found it sounds a little bit different than the guy who posted before me, the intro begins as em7 to dsus to cadd9. (hammer on to the 7 from the em) take off the dsus on second strum to switch to cadd9. then it goes cadd9 dsus em dsus and continues from there throughout the chorus.
