"That's what she gets"
Brooks & Dunn
performed on NBC's "Las Vegas"
In a slightly different key, but a very smooth progression
G G/F#
what she wants is a man to be faithful,
G/F Cadd9
True heart somebody willing and able,
Cadd9 G
To stay by her side through thick and thin,
Cadd9 D
A tender touch every now and then,
(verse 2)
G G/F#
She's not hung up on farytales,
G/F Cadd9
Or some dream at the bottom of a wishin well,
Cadd9 G
Fancy cars or diamond rings,
Cadd9 D
What she wants most are the little things, well
(chorus)
Cadd9 G
That's what she gets,
Cadd9 G
That's what she gets,
Cadd9 D G G/F# - G/F - Cadd9
That's what she gets for lovin me,
(Repeat chords for verse 3 and 1 more chorus...)
(verse 3)
At times I lay awake at night,
Stare at her layin by my side,
Knowin in her heart as she sleeps,
She can forever count on me,
(chorus)
That's what she gets
That's what she gets,
That's what she gets for lovin me...
(Roll credits...)

Awesome! - thanks for this. I taped this episode and love this version. -Johnny_Cash | 8/21/2004 | Thanks for the comment...this is my 1st post, i'm glad someone likes it! -syrfire7 | 8/23/2004 | Can you please tell me tell me the strum pattern for this song. I know when he played it, it went like down, down, .....throughout the song. He used a capo on the first fret I think also..Please help me with strum????? Thanks -sabab | 12/21/2004 | please tell me the strum pattern . And is he useing a capo? -karlina | 12/21/2004 | sorry folks, it's been a little while since that episode has aired here (and no, i didn't tape it :( but it seems to me that there wasn't any capo, it's in regular tuning. As far as the strumming goes, put emphasis on the 1st and 3rd beats, and you can't go wrong.(i usually do a 'one...three four-and'type thing. i tried to put the changes abover the words about where they happen in the song. Hope this helps..happy holidays PS...anybody know where my mindy smith tab went to? -syrfire7 | 12/21/2004 | this tab is mostly correct except the third chord in thefirst part of the verse is Em, he walks down from G to G/F# to Em keeping the bottom E string on 3rd fret, so its only the top two strings changing on the walk down, also i didn't see a capo on the episode but to match the key capo on the second with these chords matches it exactly. i just finished watching the episode and played along with it and this matched it perfectly. -mrerygt | 8/20/2010 |
