I agree, this is a great song that never found the audience it deserved. One thing: Evangeline pumped gas for the boats on the "a cote de blanc." (that has a back accent over the a, a little roof over the c, a forward accent over the e, for Cajun purists) It means, literally, "The coast of white," or "the white coast." Don't ask me how I know that. (I went to LSU Baton Rouge) (blanc pronounce blong, rhymes with long) Also, "tyin' up the lines in her tank top":)
