Nice to see you contribute!! -lmofle | 9/10/2003 | I really like it a lot when people contribute with songs ,but for myself I would never send in the chords if I were not sure they were correct, the chords in this song are in more than i example wrong. also the lyrics are not correct
here are the correct chords:
The progression from [Am] to [C] almost always has [Am/B] between (with [Am/B] meaning x2x210 ). The [GaddD] is present occasionally as well, with that chord meaning 3X0013.
[Am] [Am/B] [C] [G] [D] X2
I got a [Am]letter from [C]Maria You know her [G]English ain’t that [D]good [Am]But what she meant was [C]easily under[G]stood [Am]If I’m gonna [C]keep her, I [G]better get there [D]quick The thought of [Am]her with somebody [C]else just makes me [G]sick [GaddD] [G]
I’ve never [C]drove two days through the [G] pouring rain Just [D]stopping for coffee and [Am]gas [Am/B] Never [C]out run the law on the [G]interstate Didn’t [D]know this thing would go this [Am]fast I’ve [C]never been in this [G]deep before But there’s [D]always a first [Em]time [C]Then again I ain’t [D]never been the [Am]jealous kind
[Am] [Am/B] [C] [D] X 2
[Am]Blue lights in the [C]mirror [G]Blue lights in my [D]way [Am]But still all I [C]see is her pretty [G]face When they [Am]give me that one [C]phone call I [G]know what it’s gonna [D]be [Am]Maria, would you wait [C]one more day for [G]me [GaddD] [G]
I’ve never [C]drove two days through the [G]pouring rain Just [D]stopping for coffee and [Am]gas [Am/B] Never [C]out run the law on the [G]interstate Didn’t [D]know this thing would go this [Am]fast I’ve [C]never been in this [G]deep before But there’s [D]always a first [Em]time [C]Then again I ain’t [D]never been the [Am]jealous kind [C]Then again I ain’t [D]never been the [Am jealous kind. -rene50 | 9/14/2003 | I agree, Rene's version is pretty close to the CD - that GaddD (if that's the name) that he's talkin bout is there, but I think the explanation should be taken one step further...everyone who's trying to play this great song, when it gets (in Rene's tab) to what he has notated as the GaddD (I play it 3x0013, it's easier, in my opinion, cus you can move your fingers around to fit in there better with the rest of the chords...), you pull off the "1" in "3x0013" and work down one more string to the second fret for the "D" chord, so it goes like this: "3x0013" to "3x0003" to "xx0232" (--D)
-Smoothie7745 | 7/4/2004 | I am surprised you can even see the chords, sitting up so high on that horse rene50. -dmercerjr | 8/6/2005 | Here, here dmercerjr! -texmex16 | 11/27/2005 | shouldnt it be a Dm instead of D -TexasMusic82 | 2/14/2006 | Sounds good to me. You don't have to play it exactly like the tab. It IS just a guideline. I think it's a great tab -poisonheart | 5/22/2008 |
