Spend My Time
Clint Black
Capo 5 (or 4)
Intro G Em7 Cmaj7 G
G
How can we know how far the long way can be
Funny thing that time, we're always running out
Em7
Looking from where we are it never seemed that long to me
I'm always losing mine, there's not enough of it about
CMaj7
I've many miles behind me maybe not so much ahead
And though it's always here, it will always come and go
G
Seems I made good time with the directions I misread
The days become the years that'll be gone before you know (Go to 2ND CHORUS)
1ST CHORUS
Em7 C G D
I'm gonna spend my time like it's going out of style
Em7 C G D
I'm moving the bottom line farther than a country mile
Em7 C Em7 A
I still have hills to climb before I hit that wall, No matter
C C D G
how much time I buy, I can never spend it all
2ND CHORUS
Em7 C G D
I'm gonna spend my time like it's going out of style
Em7 C G D
I'm moving the bottom line farther than a country mile
Em7 C Em7 A
I still have hills to climb before I hit that wall, I won’t go
C C C C
quietly into that dark night There'll be no more burning daylight
G G D D
I'll be living in Every moment that I'm in oh-oh

Bob - you really can't say Capo 4 OR 5...we try to tab with the recording so everyone can play along with the cd... also your alignment is off toward the bottom. -lmofle | 2/1/2004 | Sorry, It's capo 5 to be in the original key. I'd rather capo 4 when playing it by myself though. As for the alignment again sorry. I did it in Word on a Mac and I bolded and enlarged the chords for readability. This was my first posting. In the future I'll get it right. -bobdigio | 2/4/2004 | Bob - it's cool...I made a lesson on Creating Tabs in the lessons section of the site. It's the font you are using that has caused the mis-alignment...I can delete this and have you re-submit it so it looks correct...send me a PM...
-lmofle | 2/5/2004 | dude, the tab is great. If people can't follow the beat of the song and figure where the chords go, o well. The tab is great, the chords are right. Good job! -jvalenti | 4/6/2004 | hey... i hate to do this, but i have to comment... on the alignment... you should be able to hear the chord changes anyways, so it shouldn't matter if the alignments off a bit (unless your completely tone deaf...in that case my appologise...) just my thoughts but maybe i'm wrong... i've only been playing for a few years so i dunno... -redneck_diva69 | 6/2/2005 |
