Roughest Neck Around - Corb Lund Band
Intro: A
Verse 1:
A
He's got a real long reach in the derrick when he leans
He's been all around the world on the big oil rigs

With the welders and the trucks on the black gold rush

You better hire him on, he's the roughest neck around
(D)
He got the power in his hand to pull the dragons from the ground

Verse 2:
It's 35 below or it's 98 above
He's workin' through it all cause baby this is what he loves
Drives 150 miles makes sure his kids are doing fine

You better hire him on, he's the roughest neck around
He got the power in his hand to pull the dragons from the ground
Verse 3:
He's a good hand to have on, and he's throwin' on the tongs
Spinnin' chain and slidin' high side all night long
And he's tripping in his pipe, and he torques it good and tight
And ya gotta figure Eddy's got his mud weight right
You better hire him on, cause he's better than the rest
He got the power in his hands and the dragons in his chest

Takin' fuel from the tanks on his short change shift
You better hire him on, he's the roughest neck around
He got the power in his hand to pull the dragons from the ground

Great song,Great job.......Duke -Bluegrassdude | 10/26/2004 | This is the ultimate rigger song almost a hymn for those tough guys who drill for YOUR oil. I know Corb plays the song in E I think with a capo on the 5th fret for that twangy guitar sound. Does someone have the solo, that is beautiful -prairie_fire | 11/3/2004 | excellent song I was wondering if someone could figure out some of the riffs used that would be great -steviewonder450 | 11/7/2004 | this songs kicks A$$ living here in the country this is all the stuff we got to listen to and I appreciate it. it would be nice to get those awesome riffs be plays though -electric101 | 11/13/2004 | ive seen him in concert and he plays this song with a capo on 4th or 5th.. This song is the anthem of every alberta farm boy who is forced to earn a second income, way to go corb!!! -dakefield | 12/5/2004 | us crazy alberta farm boyz.... -dustinl | 1/2/2005 | thanks shantle keep up the good work, hab
-hab | 1/3/2005 | Great Alberta band provin that not all good country music comes from south of the 49th. -Derrek | 1/8/2005 | Sounds Great...but it's actually "You Better Hire Ramone" rather than "You Better Hire Him On"...if you listen closely at the very beginning he says "This one's for Ramone", but you have to turn it up really loud to hear it. I was listening to it on full when I found that out. -Brit_89 | 8/16/2005 | I'm a driller for Nabors Drilling this song is our anthem, grat job boys -pressly | 9/7/2005 | does anyone have a link to a sight that might have the riff and solo ??? -CuttyKing | 12/26/2005 | Great Song, but i believe he says "You better hire Ramone" instead of "you better hire him on" just because he says at the beginning of the song that "this ones for Ramone" -azzii | 6/1/2008 |
