Intro:

Play 4 times
I------------------------I
I--3-3-1-0---0-1-3--1--0-I
I--4-4-2-0---0-2-4--2--0-I
I----------2-------------I
I------------------------I
I------------------------I

G G
Sirens wale and a flashing light
                                  C
Nothin' better to do on a Tuesday night
            G
But give me hell
G G
Where you headed, what are you out for
                                     C
Don't see much of you 'round here anymore
                     G
I guess it's just as well
D C
Once upon a time you had it all
D C
You let everybody down
D C G
You're always seventeen in your hometown

Chorus:
D C G
Runnin' from your folks, runnin' from the law
D C G D
Runnin' from love, runnin' from your fears, runnin' from it all
C D
You keep on runnin' boy
       G G/F# Em
You'll run yourself in the ground
C D G
You're always seventeen in your hometown

Her porch swing still looks the same
She probably won't even remember my name
Just like she didn't back then
Is she married, is she doin' fine
Does she know about all the nights
I laid awake cryin'
Just to know her hand
The door opens and I run away
Just like the same old clown
You're always seventeen in your hometown

(Repeat Chorus)

Nobody's gonna miss me
No tears will fall, no one's gonna weep
When I hit that road
My boots are broken, my brain is sore
From keeping up with their little world
I got a heavy load
Gonna leave 'em all just like before
I'm big city bound
You're always seventeen in your hometown

(Repeat Chorus)

Mine is played with 2 strings when the other is just one, the song sounds
like it is played with 2 strings but it is acctually 1. I forgot i still
had this on there, it will be changed.
-CrossCanadianJB | 12/6/2002
it does sound like its played with 2 strings please let me know where
i can find your old posting with the 2 styring method Lumpy
-lumpyokc | 12/7/2002
I will put my old posting back up and you can refer to the other tab
intro if you want the single string.
-CrossCanadianJB | 12/8/2002
2 string intro sounds better I don't care how they really do it... 2
strings is the way to go if you play alone..
-Trenton | 1/10/2003
Solo would sound good if you put another D string 2nd fret at the
end of it.
-yinielin | 2/27/2003
do they keep playing the intro thorugh the song in sounds like the play it once after about every line that ends in a g chord or is it something different. I don't know i haven't had a guitar but a month now so i could be wrong
