INTRO

Bm A Bm G Bm A G A
Bm A Bm G Bm A G A D

           Bm A
She picked up the telephone,
         Bm G
All she heard was dialtone.
 Bm A G A
She really thought she heard it ring this time.
Bm A
She said "What am I thinkin'?
Bm G
I must be only dreamin'
Bm A G A
Or maybe it's a hundred times it's crossed my mind...
       D
Just tonight." She said,

A G A D
"Maybe I miss your lovin'.
A G A D
Maybe I miss your kiss just a little bit.
A G A D
Maybe I miss your body lyin' right next to mine.
A G A Bm
Maybe I miss your touch a little too much."

- REPEAT 1/2 INTRO -

Bm A Bm
   Tossin' and turnin',
      G
Her skin's still burnin'
Bm A G A Bm
From a fire in his hands.
 A
Runnin' on empty,
Bm G
She needs somebody...
Bm A G
But somebody wouldn't understand.
                   D
And the telephone rings...

A G A D
"Maybe I miss your lovin'.
A G A D
Maybe I miss your kiss just a little bit.
A G A D
Maybe I miss your body lyin' right next to mine.
A G A Bm
Maybe I miss your touch a little too much."

Bm A Bm G Bm A G D (1x)
Bm A Bm G Bm A G A D (2x)

      Bm A
They talked about Savannah,
Bm G
Sweet home Alabama,
Bm A G A
And how I missed the way she always smiled.
Bm A Bm G
"Are you coming back soon by the harvest moon?"
Bm A G A D
"If I have to walk every mile on my knees.

A G A D
Maybe I miss your lovin'.
A G A D
Maybe I miss your kiss just a little bit.
A G A D
Maybe I miss your body lyin' right next to mine.
A G A Bm
Maybe I miss your touch a little too much.
A G A D
Maybe I miss your lovin'.
A G A D
Maybe I miss your lips just a little bit.
A G A D
Maybe I miss your body lyin' right next to mine.
A G A Bm
Maybe I miss your touch a little too much."

To get that hammer on sound on the Bmin,
fret the bmin chord at the 2nd fret and you
hammer on your index finger for the barre.

the (3), etc means these are fingerd but not played yet.

|--------2-|
|-(3)----3-|
|-(4)----4-|
|-(4)----4-|
|--0--h--2-|
|----------|

Hope thats clear.

in the intro and verses there is a pull off on the A chord like this:

I---0------I
I---2-3p2--I
I---2------I
I---2------I
I---0------I
I---X------I

I suggest using your pointer finger only to make the a chord and
then using your middle finger to create the pull off. hope that
helps.

I have two versions of the song. In the studio version I have I
don't hear the A pulloff, but in a live acoustic version it is
clearly there. What version of the song do you have?
-DaveWH | 1/11/2003
I tabbed it from the live bootlegged version (where he talks about
writing it on the way to see James Brown). The last chords at the end
(just instrumental) I got from the studio version. Don't ask
why...haha

after...."ring this time" theres a lil lead lick cody plays and its...

Im new at this guitar playin stuff and i was just wondering if anybody could tab out this entire song for me please

-ashley_c05 | 10/5/2004
lol, well if your new, this is about as easy and good as its gonna get
-outlaw2269 | 11/10/2004
That pulloff on that A is definitely there on the live acoustic version, which I prefer, but I don't hear it the 377 version. I think Cody and the boys like slappin that little hammer in there every now and then. You hear it in a lot of their songs.
-Murph316 | 2/15/2005
this is a good tab, but SOMEBODY needs to tab the outro to this song. perchate it
-alexwest | 3/2/2005
What an awesome song. One of my favorites, CCR is awesome I love 'em. Pretty good tab, sounds good. I've noticed on the video on CMT they decided to cut out the second verse in leiu of a extended guitar solo.
-bigeagle | 3/8/2005
could anyone tell me how to strum it? because im having trouoble hearing it when i listen to the track... thanks you can do it here or email me. katie@securepath.com
-katiedomke | 3/13/2005
the second intro was pulled because of explicit lyrics.... and a buddy of mine(damn good guitarist) swears up and down that he saw cody play the whole versus w/ a d instead of bm. We almost got into a heated argument about it. I rarely miss a concert when they're around and i have NEVER seen this. Any know wtf he is thinkin he see's?
-redneck04 | 3/23/2005
Actually I saw them not to long ago in San Antonio and I swear I saw them play the Chorus D..A G D again It was on the big screen ...can anyone comfirm? thanks Jet
-jet7719 | 4/8/2005
hey, i just finished playin along with the song. I read on previous statements about a hammer on/off. I know that at the end on the intro ,after the first line there is a hammer on.
-fender_man2k2 | 4/15/2005
i'm pretty new at guitar, but i think i have the strumming down. i was curious if in the live acoustic version if he is hitting the strings with the palm of his hand to get that distinctive tingy sound.
-chooglee | 5/5/2005
Whatever sounds good to you choogle
-StampedeUSMC | 5/20/2005
hey this is a good tab i dont really have all of the pull off down with the strum but im getting it
-greenheadcole | 7/5/2005
in the intro where u hear that pull off try this.. u kno how it goes
bm A bm G bm A G A well at the end of that to get the pulloff sound on the G, strum down once then pause, down strum again then on ur up strum go to A just for that one strum then start over on the next line....thats what i do and it sounds good to me lol
-leviellis1504 | 10/29/2005
anybody know the lick he plays after he sings "maybe i miss your lovin"
-mike5367 | 11/9/2005
hey im kinda new but in the live version i wanna know hoe he makes that muffled sound as he changes chords if u know wut i mean
-timjmayer | 12/18/2005
I think that C.C.R is one of the best bands out their. I mean you can put in any of their C.Ds and not find a bad song. The mufell you talked about is just palm mute the chord that your suppose to play quickly.
