-aggieroper05 | 4/13/2003
it's "mid", listen to the song
-michaelshufeldt | 4/21/2003
honestly its mid, but as many different ways they play theirs songs live and the verses that they've added to them(i.e. boys from oklahoma wormy dogg is different from the live version they played at the concert here in graham...great job on the chords though man
-henry | 7/30/2003

-bors32 | 9/11/2003

OKIES
-CrossCanadianTX | 11/16/2003
Ok. First of all.... All of the towns that CCR mentions in their songs are in either west texas or Oklahoma. Where are they from? Exactly.... Why would they say aint never seen nothin' but that "mid-texas dirt?" That's f**king stupid. They're not fropm "mid-texas." My vote is definately "RED" texas dirt.
-mikel_carter246 | 1/24/2004
It does say mid-texas dirt on their website. It doesn't really matter though because you can play it how it best fits you. If you're from mid-texas then say that. If not then sing whatever makes you happy.
-aggiedave05 | 1/26/2004
Great Tab.....I love this song because it is about Cody's dad who fought in vietnam...that is why is say "mid-Texas dirt "
-papa66 | 1/28/2004
first of all it is Mid - Texas cause it isnt about them it is about Cody's Dad.
and most of the Dirt in Texas is Black anyway, not red like here in Oklahoma.
The Guys are from Yukon ok, and spent some time In Stillwater while in College at OSU. but it is Mid.
-hyperbulldog21 | 2/16/2004

-SCOTTY B | 3/8/2004

-bubba716 | 3/11/2004

-garrettgodwin | 3/22/2004
I cant belive i took all that time to read all that s**t, really get a life and quit tittin about one word in a song.

-ba_bumpass | 3/28/2004
Great song,Great tab..CCR rules! glad we got
the "Mid" thing straightened out,lol
-Lwave22222 | 3/30/2004
First off, "mid-texas dirt".

Second off, Grady plays the intro like this

e-10-10-10--5--3-3-3-3-3-3-
b-10-10-10--5--3-3-3-3-3-3-
g-11-11-11--6--4-4-4-4-4-4-
d-12-12-12--7--5-5-5-5-5-5-
a--------------------------
E--------------------------

He repeats that a couple times and then does a regular Bm to and A and then to a D.

PS- Wacokid, did you go to their concert last night? It was f**king awesome.
-pickerfromWACO | 10/15/2004

-williampanther | 5/2/2005
Hey dumbasses I pretty sure Canada was born in Pampa Tx which is in the middle of the panhandle of Texas Which is probably where Cody's father was born and raised which is who he wrote the song about which is why he wrote never seen nothing but that mid texas dirt. Jsut one of those random thoughts
