Ok. I didnrt now that David Allan Coe did as version of this song. But he ruined it by the looks of it. If yer gonna do a Johnny Cash song, ya gotta do it the way Johnny Cash did it. Especially if its one of his greatest hits. This is wacked. Nice job an all, but Coe totally wacked this song. -macg1 | 2/18/2005 | Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it. Nobody sings a Johnny Cash song the way Johnny Cash did, so why bother? But that's just one man's opinion... -twizzle05 | 2/18/2005 | True, nobody does, but the words in this version is changed around a lot, and it really effects the storyline of the song a great deal. especially when the song should be starting with "I hear the train a-comin'", it's just the way it was meant to be. and it doesn't seem like the song is played the way he did it. I bet its an alright version, and nobody's got a voice like THE MAN IN BLACK, but when his songs are covered, they should be played the way that he and his band would've played it on guitar and stuff. And not messin the words too much, cuz then it dont sound like Cash's song, when it is Csh's song. But as for singing it, you dont gotta sound like him. -macg1 | 2/18/2005 |
