Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)
written by David Allan Coe
11/20/05
NOTE: On the recording I'm using here, there is a female singer singing the second
verse and parts of the second chorus. It sounds like Emmylou Harris, though
I don't have any liner notes to prove it.

          (D)
Would you lay with me in a field of stone
      (A7) (D) D
If my needs were strong would you lay with me
          D
Should my lips grow dry would you wet them dear
       A7 D
In the midnight hour should my lips grow dry

BRIDGE:
          G D
Would you go away to another land
          G D A7
Walk a thousand miles thru the burning sand
          D
Wipe the blood away from my dying hands
   G G/F# G/B G/A A7
If I give myself to you

         D
Will you bathe with me in the stream of life
         A7 D
When the moon is full with you bathe with me
         D
Will you love me now when I'm down and out
       A7 D
In my time of trial will you stand by me

BRIDGE

          (D)
Would you lay with me in a field of stone
      (A7) (D)
If my needs were strong would you lay with me

I need to know the G/F#,G/B, and G/A chords

You should be able to move your cursor over the chord names and see the shapes. If that doesn't work...

G/F# = 220033
G/B = x20033
G/A (or Gadd9) = x00033
