b>Song:/b>Gonna Get There Someday
b>Artist:/b>Dierks Bentley

This song gives me chills everytime I hear it! It is a VERY sweet song and
anyone who has loss there mother, this will become an instant favorite! Dierks'
will really strick a chord in the hearts of many people with this song!

b>~ Pick the chords, don't strum. ~/b>
b>Intro:/b>Am - C - D - G - C

b>Verse 1/b>
                 Am
Well it's been a year
                       C
and there's so much to tell
               Am
Been doing all right
            C
in spite of myself
                    F
Just wished I could stop
                    Am
Feeling mad when I pray
      D G C
but I know I'm gonna get there someday

b>Verse 2/b>
         Am
Got that job
                C
I was dreaming about
               Am
Sometimes it's tuff
          C
traveling around
                F
but who I wanna be
                   Am
still seems so far away
      D G C
but I know I'm gonna get there someday

b>Bridge/B>
Am F
Glad I told you
             G
All I meant to
                C
while I had the chance
Am F
Cause every moment
           C
I had with you
              G
made me who I am

b>Verse 3/b>
           Am
and by the way
              C
I met someone new
                 Am
And wouldn't you know
                       C
She's a whole lot like you
             F
Still I aint ready
                      Am
to settle down in one place
      D G C
But I know I'm gonna get there someday

b>Solo/b>
Am - C - Am - C - F - Am - D - G - C

b>Verse 3/b>
       Am
Well I guess
               C
I'll be moving on
           Am
I'll just leave
                    C
these daisy by your stone
     F
and momma
                  Am
I still miss you everyday
      D G C
but I know I'm gonna get there someday
             Am
When that'll be
                     C
I guess only God can say
      D G C
but I know I'm gonna get there someday

How do you tabs these songs before the CD comes out?

-cool_hand459 | 4/28/2005
I hope people respect the artist enough to buy their music instead of burning it. The time and energy to write and produce albums is worth $15 for a cd.

I'm thinkin the D's are actually Dm's throughout the song. Good tab nonetheless.
-thebunnman | 5/10/2005
they are Dm's but when you pick the song how he does you can play a regular D and it sounds fine.
-denalitwinkie2s | 5/11/2005
being as the entire album was available for streaming on CMT several weeks before it was released someone could easily have tabbed the song that way. Don't accuse people of ripping someone off if you don't know that they have.
Thanks for this song, I love it and it has very special meaning for me.
-am4063 | 6/12/2005
can you please include the picking pattern?
-jamie3233 | 6/15/2005
I love this song. I, like most everyone else, was lead on by the first 3 quarters of the song... till he said momma. I stopped right there and restarted the song... and wow. I lost my mom, so i can relate to this. Anyone have the actual tabs for this? picking pattern, that is? thanks. Great chords.

Yea I also was jaw-dropped when he said "Mama". And the way he says it, with so much emotion. I was hooked! I love the violens in it. I could listen to just the violens on a loop forever. But I would also like the picking pattern. You gave us the chords, do I just pick from the low E to the high e? but only only the strings with fingers on them or are there any open strings? submit another page with the tabs. thanx.

Music was meant to be heard...regardless of how you get it.
-dickysmalls | 12/13/2005
Agreed. this is the most touching country song ive heard. many artists dont put emotion in there voice when they sing a song, dierks does it just right in this so that you feel it. i haven't lost my mom thank god but when i hear this song i can feel the emotion and grief. very good song.
