My Last Name - Dierks Bentley
Album: Dierks Bentley
Writers: Dierks Bentley/Harley Allen

Intro: D D/F# G A (x2)

D G A
I learned how to write it, when I first started school
      D D/F# G A-Bbaug-Bm
Some bully didn't like it, he said it didn't sound too cool
Bm A G A
So I had to hit him, and all I said when the blood came
         G D/F# Em7 Asus-A
It's my last name

         D G A
Grandpa took it off to Europe, to fight the Germans in the war
    D D/F# G A-Bbaug-Bm
It came back on some dog tags, nobody wears no more
Bm A G D/A
It's written on a headstone, in the field where he was slain
        Em7 D/F# Em7 Asus
It's my last name

Chorus:
        G A D
Passed down from generations, too far back to trace
       G D/F# Em7 A
I can see all my relations, when I look into my face
Bbaug-Bm A G D/A
May never make it famous, but I'll never bring it shame
        Em7 D/F# Em7 Asus-A
It's my last name

D G A
Daddy always told me, far back as I recall
D D/F# G A-Bbaug-Bm
Son you're part of something, you represent us all
Bm A G D/F#
So keep it how you got it, as solid as it came
        Em7 D/F# Em7 Asus-A
It's my last name

CHORUS

Em7 D/F# Em7 Asus-A

D G A
So darlin if you're wonderin, why I've got you here tonight
D D/F# G A-Bbaug-Bm
I wanna be your husband, I want you to be my wife
Bm A G D/A
Ain't got much to give you, but what I've got means everything
        Em7 D/F# Em7 Asus G D/F# Em7 Asus
It's my last name Oh it's my last name

D G A D
I learned how to write it, when I first started school

In the video he uses a capo. It looks like it's on 2 or 3 but it's hard to tell.

This is a great song, and a great job was done charting the chords.
Does anyone know where I can find a bass tab for it though? It'd be
greatly appreciated. I've spent the last two months nearly looking
for one!
