I Don’t Know Where To Start
By Eddie Rabbitt
D/C - X3X230
E7 - 020130
D D/C Bm G
I stopped by to look around for things I left behind
D E7 G A
With the years we spent together, there’s no telling what I’ll find
D D/C Bm G
It’s not the keys or the records, it’s the love I’m looking for
D E7 A D
Cause the last time that I had it, I was walking out your door
And I came by to get some things I used to call my own
I didn’t think I’d need ‘em when I started out alone
It’s not the books or the records but my heart I’m looking for
Cause the last time that I felt it I was walking out your door
Chorus:
D G A7 D
But I don’t know where to start looking for a lonely heart
B7 E7 A7
Oh I could tear this place apart if you won’t mind it
D G A7 D
On a shelf behind a book, in the closet on a hook
B7 E7 A7 D
If you’d only help me look I know I’d find it
I stopped in to tell you that there isn’t any doubt
That the things I left here here with you are the things I can’t live without
You can keep all that I have ever owned, it’s the love I’m looking for
Cause the last time that I felt it I was walking out your door

I, likewise, have been looking for this rascal for a long while. I'd always played it with a straight C as the second chord instead of a D/C, but I knew in my heart it wasn't right. So I would like to add my thanks to lmofle for posting it and this board for the opportunity to get it...
