Chorus:
D A
You don’t like my music, you don’t like my song
    G D
You say you wanna party, say you wanna rock and roll
     G D
That carbon copy music don’t mean a damn to me
     D G D
Hank Williams wouldn’t make it now in Nashville, Tennesse

D
What happened to the music that I loved so long ago
   D B A
It seems it’s been forgotten on the country radio
    G D
The steel guitar and fiddle have become a novelty
    D A D
But what I’d give to make things like the way they used to be

Chorus:

Steel solo

Gram Parson used to sing about the Streets Of Baltimore
The honest words and simple rhymes don’t sell much anymore
Some say that California is the place we ought to be
Cause all the barefoot Texans miss the forest for the trees

Chorus

Written by Aaron Wynn. Once great steel and guitar player for 1100 Springs. Living the dream with the love of his life outside of Joshua Tree.

A true friend.
