I vary the Am with an Am7 (just lift your second finger from an Am chord
 and play the G string open)Usually I start the Am, then play the Am7th
 before the D, really brings around the hook. Most of this tab is someone
 elses, but it's how I play this song, took me a while to find it, maybe
