Intro G G G-C G G G G G G G-C G

 G
Well, it won't be long now
           C G
Til that 'ol sun goes down
                                         D
And darkness helps me hide my shameful tears.
    G
My wife works all night long
       C G
For a man who's halfway gone
                           D G
She's the barmaid in the honky-tonk downstairs.
         C
It's a shame she wears the name
      G
Of a man who's locked and chained
                                         D
To a bottle that's destroyin' all hopes and cares.
        G
To the men with hungry eyes
      C G
She works and hides her pride
                           D G
She's the barmaid in the honky-tonk downstairs.

G C G D G
         C
It's a shame she wears the name
      G
Of a man who's locked and chained
                                         D
To a bottle that's destroyin' all hopes and cares.
        G
To the men with hungry eyes
      C G
She works and hides her pride
                           D G
She's the barmaid in the honky-tonk downstairs.
                           D C G

This a great george strait song from way back in the 80's. I wish more people would post some of the lesser popular Strait songs. This is when country music was still country.
