Key Of C
                                     F
1. The king of broken hearts doesn't ask much from his friends
              C A
And he has quite a few of them
                     Dm G
   They know he will understand
                           C F-G-C
That's just the way it goes

                                     F
2. The king of broken hearts doesn't know he's a king
                 C A
He's trying to forget other things
                Dm G
   Like some old chilly scenes
                        C F-G-C
   He's walking through alone

Chorus :
                           G
He talks to angels and the stars start to spin
                              C
He thinks of troubles that he's gotten in
                      D7
He recalls how his heart got broken
                           G
And how it's still that way

                                    F
3. The king of broken hearts is so sad and wise
                     C A
He can smile while he's crying inside
                   Dm G
We know he'll be brave tonight
                              C F-G-C
Cause he's the king of broken hearts

Inst : same as 1st verses

                         C A
He's a little bit like me and you
                              Dm G
So what's a king like that supposed to do
                     E A
   With all that blue time
                    Dm G
We know he'll be brave tonight
G F

What do you mean by "in the key of C" I am self taught and use stanard tuning and drop d tuning and half step down and thats all I know or understand? You can send straight to my e-mail lakedrdon@btc-bci.com Hope it's not a dumb question? Thanks!

the key of C refers to the key the song is in. It has nothing to do with guitar tuning. For guitar there are MANY different tunings but it's all about the chords you play that decide the key of the song. If the song starts and ends on some kind of C chord, it USUALLY is in the key of C...same with any other chord.

Great job on this tab. this is one of favorite George Strait songs

Interestingly enough when George plays this song on the porch in the movie he is playing it in the key of B. However he is clearly playing C and F chord positions, so I have come to the conclusion that his Gibson Dove was tuned down a half a step before the scene was shot.

Hey man I'm a huge George strait fan and its awesome that you do a lot of George strait. But if you wouldn't mind adding the strum pattern in there that would be awesome. Or am I just blind and don't see where the pattern is
