I have 2 disagreements with you on this one. I prefer the A to the A7. I'm not sure you are wrong, but that's what sounds better to me. I'm also not a fan of the key change in this song. You may be right, but I play the same chords throughout the song. Also, when he says "Daddies don't just love their children every now and then" the last time he picks the following notes: E 3 A 2 D 0 G 0
I play that every time but George Strait only plays it the last time. That is also why I don't like the key change. I am not being critical, just adding my preferences for playing this one. -tpmadden | 3/3/2009 | You could be right on the A instead of the A7, but about the key change, that is the way it is played on the CD. Check the video attached to this song. Thanks for you taking the time to comment. -Ray Terry | 3/3/2009 | I'm sure you are right. I just prefer not to change keys. I play this song for my kids. Thanks for putting these chords out there because this is a great song. -tpmadden | 3/4/2009 | I am extremely glad to see this song on here. I have loved this song for years, probably one of the first songs that turned me on to country music. Not only am I in the process of learning, but I am also a recently divorced Soldier with children that I see when I get the chance, and I have other Soldiers with me that are divorced and in the same situation with their kids. Thanks fpr working this one for me, and thanks for the comments. I am giong to try to learn both ways and see which one suits me better. -cib.wiley | 12/20/2010 |
