Intro
E F#m A B x2

verse1
F#m E
He wondered how she'd take it when he said goodbye
F#m E
Thought she might do some cryin, lose some sleep at night
    D E
but he had no idea when he hit the road
     D B
that without him in her life she'd let herself go

chorus1
            E F#m
let herself go on a singles cruise
   A B
to Vegas once, then to Honolulu
            E F#m
let herself go to New York City
  A B
a week at the spa came back knocked out pretty
        A B
when he said he didn't love her no more
                E F#m A B
she let herself go

verse2

she poured her heart and soul into their three bedroom ranch
spent her days raising babies, ironing his pants
came home one day from the grocery store and found his note
and without him there to stop her she let herself go

chorus2

let herself go on her first blind date
had the time of her life with some friends at the lake
let herself go buy a brand new car
drove down to the beach he always said was too far
sand sure felt good between her toes

repeat chorus1

repeat intro and fade out over:

let herself go on a singles cruise
to Vegas once, then to Honolulu
New York City, came back knocked out pretty

great job. almost perfect. the chorus progression is actually E-A-F#m-B X2 F#m-B- then back to the intro chords as soon as you hit the "E" on "Go"

This song has become George's 52nd #1 single, and 40th on Billboard alone-tying Conway Twitty for the all-time record! You can't stop George Strait, you can only hope to contain him!
