I never saw the (G) end in sight; fools are kind of (A7) blind.
Thought everything was (D) going alright, but I was running out of (G) time.
'Cause (D) you had one (G) foot out the door, I swear I didn't (A7) see
But if you're really (C) going away, (D) here's some final words from (G) me (C) (G)
Baby, (D) write this (G) down, take a little note to re(A7)mind you in case you didn't know,
Tell yourself I (C) love you and I don't want you to (D) go, write this (G) down (D)
Take my (G) words, read 'em every day, keep 'em close (A9) by, don't you let 'em fade away,
So you'll re(C)member what I forgot to (D) say, write this (G) down.
Repeat Intro
I'll sign it at the (G) bottom of the page, I'll swear under (A7) oath
'Cause every single (D) word is true, and I think you need to (G) know,
So (D) use it as a (G) bookmark, stick it on your (A7) 'frigerator door,
Hang it in a (C) picture frame up above the (D) mantel where you'll see it for (G) sure (C) (G)
Repeat Chorus
(Bm7) You can find a chisel, (D) I can find a stone.
(C) Folks will be reading these words, (D) long (D/C) after we're (Bm) gone
Repeat Chorus
Oh I (A9) love you and I don't want you to (D) go, baby write this (G) down (C) (G)
NOTE: this is my first attempt at this song. If the intro is wrong, please let me know.

This is perfect!!! I give this a perfect 10! It sounds perfect!!! Thanks -Cbob2 | 9/30/2003 | I rated this a while back, and it's still a great tab, but I think there are some different chords in some places. Just my suggestions. Still think it's a 10 though....
In the bridge, I think he does the full walk-up from D to G....
(Bm7) You can find a chisel, (D) I can find a stone. (C) Folks will be reading these words, (D) long (D/C) after we're (D/B) gone
Baby, (D/A) write this (G) down, take a little note to re(A7)mind you in case you didn't know,
And in the chorus, I think it's an A7 instead of an A....
Take my (G) words, read 'em every day, keep 'em close (A7) by, don't you let 'em fade away, So you'll re(C)member what I forgot to (D) say, write this (G) down.
-debeck | 4/10/2004 | debeck, your right, but it would be nice if you would leave the not so obvious chords...(D/C, D/B, D/A) thanks. -T4TeeJ | 11/23/2004 | during the bridge he goes to bm,d,c,then a chord walk down of d,C,b/d,A then ending on G -qzunie | 1/27/2005 | I agree with the first guy, it is PERFECT!! -hopeuknow | 10/13/2005 | amazing job. the only thing on the intro is when it goes from 2/4 then up one string to 3, the second time it does that, you don't hit the 4th fret, just go from 3, down one string to the 2nd fret, then do the ending pull-offs. I think that's the only thing. Great Job Though! -Musicman1600 | 5/24/2010 | i give it a perfect score good job
