BY THE TIME I GET TO PHOENIX
GLEN CAMPBELL
This tab has a few different chord changes than the one
previously submitted. This is a manuscr i pt version. To
match the key on the recording, Capo the second fret and
play these chords, as the other tab has this in Am7.

       Gm7 C7 Fmaj7 F6
By the time I get to Phoenix she'll be rising
       Gm7 C7 Fmaj7 F7
She'll find the note I left hanging on her door
       Bb C7 Am Dm
She'll laugh when she reads the part that says I'm leaving
           Gm7 Eb C7
Cause I've left that girl so many times before

       Gm7 C7 Fmaj7 F6
By the time I make Albuquerque she'll be working
       Gm7 C7 Fmaj7 F7
She'll probably stop at lunch and give me a call
    Bb C7 Am Dm
But she'll just hear that phone keep on ringing
       Gm7 Eb C7
Of the wall that's all

       Gm7 C7 Fmaj7 F6
By the time I make Oklahoma she'll be sleeping
            Gm7 C7 Fmaj7 F7
She'll turn softly and call my name out low
    Bb C7 Am Dm
And she'll cry just to think I'd really leave her
       Gm7 C7 Fmaj7
Though time and time I've tried to tell her so

F7 Bb Gm A7 D
She just didn't know I would really go

But why? I am only questioning because if it sounds good in Am7, why
capo and play Gm7? Is it easier? Is it more accurate? The bottem line
comes down to we could have, theoretically we could have 7 different
versions - we want the most accurate.

oh, sorry, I think it might sound better with the chords for Am7, as
you have in the other tab, but I think it might be equally
as easy for both ways. For the Gm7 version, the F6, and Fmaj7 are
easier to play than G6 and Gmaj7, in the Am7. In the Am7 version, Am7
is an easier chord to play than Gm7, but the Gm7 might not be as hard
to learn as the Gmaj7, because the chord fingering for a Gmaj7 is a
bit tricky. I'm not sure, but I'll change it if you want, these are
the chords from a manuscr i pt and I just noticed, a couple of differnt
chord changes, so I'm not sure exactly which would be better, to capo
the second fret with these chords, or to just play everything a full-
tone higher.

I would have to agree this makes so much more sense, in my brain anyway. It really is easier to do it this way. Good tabbing by both of y'all!!!
