Ocean In His Eyes
Glen Campbell
written by Jimmy Webb
2001 album Reunion: Songs of Jimmy Webb

There are two versions here. One is as recorded
and the second one was from a live preformance
where Glen changed some words on his own. I
believe this is probably after his break up
with Tanya Tucker because of the wording.
Let me know if you think differently or have
insight. Thanks

note: If you're not over 50 or so, you probably
are unaware that early on in his career Glen
Campbell was considered one of the best 12
string guitar players around. This song is best
on a 12 string. I think he uses some open tuning
on this song but not sure, this was a close as I
could get it. Plenty of room for tweeking, have fun.

Capo 1st Fret unless you want to play in C#

Iv'e heard you say you love me

I've heard you say you love me

but I'm not sure you know just what you mean

cause if you did you wouldn't leave me

standing somewhere in between your scene

someday you'll understand what pain is

I don't think your human but

I I I miss you anyway

Why don't you even call me

Or would that put to much of a strain on you?

But when you do you only accuse me

of something youre afraid you might do

someday you'll understand how wrong you are

when its too late and your man has gone away

You'd never believe me but

I I I tell you anyway and he cries and he cries

theres an ocean in his eyes

see how low he flies when his babys gone

I flew a kite this morning

flew in hope of saving us

When I saw it drowning later

It reminded you of me

Someday you'll understand what I just said

When you're foresight fails and you cannot make mistakes

You got some strings on me But I'll...

I'm gonna lose you anyway

and he cries and he cries theres an Ocean in his eyes

See how low he flies when his babys gone

wont you look and see how low he flies

when his babys gone gone babys gone wha ha huh

As per Jimmy Webb himself theses lyrics are terribly incorrect.
