Southern Nights
Glen Campbell
written by Allen Toussaint
1977 Album Southern Nights
Even Glen admits this was his big come back song.
I didn't want to steal anyone's thunder but the version
posted here is not right to play along with song. Not
saying mines perfect.
la la's and da da's are correct in number, listening
to original song will show you how to space them.
You can play this in C if you want to capo at 4th fret
but it really sounds better as originally played I think.
A lot of versions on tube sound out of key. This is most
likely due to upload speeds when posted or sometimes I
think in the studio people just tuned up to a piano
and it was out of tune! unless you have the original
Southern Nights album, you can hunt around and find
one that isn't too bad. Or just tune your guitar to
song. This site won't let me post links.
Barre chords sound better as well.
