song: Me and Smitty
band: Honeybrowne
G
Me and Smitty in some beat up jeans
D
two crazy ass kids like no one's ever seen
Em C
we were ridin' bikes to the stop and go
D
for a can of snuff and some dirty magazines, well we
grew up fast in a none light town
where it seems like the world is a few miles round
we were buying beer at 17
with four bald tires and a fake ID
(chorus)
Cadd9 Em D G
and i said hey there brother do you know how the story goes
Cadd9 Em D G
how'd we get so far so fast man it seems like no one knows
Cadd9 Em D G
hey there brother heaven knows how long it's been
Cadd9 Em D G
nothing's changed round this old town you were always my best friend
well i remember one night they through Smitty in jail
used my dad's credit card to pay his bail
yeah, dad was cool never siad a thing
Smitty gave me 60 bucks and a pint of Jim Beam
well the very next night we were riding around
drivin like hell through this one light town
yeah the Jim Beam didn't last as long
but the way things were man we couldn't go wrong
(chorus)

Just so you know, you will not be able to play along with the mp3 if you use your chords, Btexan. I just was playing along with the song. I think he tunes his guitar down by 1/2 step...Larry
-lmofle | 2/10/2003 | yeah i know, i forgot to put that. all of honeybrowne's songs are down half a step just so you know. -btexan03 | 2/10/2003 | yeah hes right for some odd reason the honeybrowne band tunes down 1/2 step for damn near every song the used to have most of their lyrics and chords on their web sight but now it only lyrics. but if you just play it without listening to the cd it sounds perfect.thanks for tabbing it . russell -russell galyean | 1/22/2004 |
