Somewhere Down In Texas
By Jason Boland
Tabbed By Larry Mofle
10/15/03

Capo 2

D
When I look south and see the storm clouds roll
                            Bm
On their way to old Mexico
                   G A
I don't want to be alone
        D
And the rays of light through my Shiner Bock bottle
                                                      Bm
Make me wanna turn the key and put down the throttle
        G A D
And get lost down 3-5

When I get tied down by the ties that bind
It seems like I'm never gonna find the time
To do what I need
And that's to find me a place where I can think
Tlk about love, and laugh, and drink
And there's someone there who cares

Chorus:
G D
Cause no matter how big the storms
G A
I know I can find me a place that's warm
           G A D
The sun is shining somewhere in Texas
Bm G A
I hope it's shining on her
G A D
Somewhere down in Texas

In a place that big a man could get lost
Nevermind the time forget about the cost
There's more important things
She's somewhere smiling north of San Antone
I've got her number but I stare at the phone
Cause I still want to believe

Chorus

Bridge:
Bm G D
To hell with horoscopes and empty dreams
Bm G D A
To hell with Valentino in his cut off pair of jeans
G A
Cause I know I can make it there
     G A Bm
On a twelve pack and a prayer

Yes, it CAN be no capo in E but when you
listen close to the strings, I hear higher
notes than an E can provide.

This YouTube link will take you a really good cover video of this song, and the guy in the video doesn't use a capo. I think it sounds pretty legit myself, you should really check it out if your wantin to learn the song the right way WITHOUT A CAPO lol

It's not a matter of which ones right it's about what matches your voice if you are singing along. Play around with it and see what works best. And that YouTube link you sent out sucked the dude can't sing. This guy is way better.... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UEQuCQuqShI
