Jimmy Lafave - Hideaway Girl

Capo 4

D G
Hello, baby, welcome to the world
A D G A
Don't be a hideaway girl
D G
Come on, baby, let your light shine down
A D G A
You're the best that I ever found
D G
Don't be nervous, baby, don't be shy
A D G A
There ain't no reason why, oh no
D G
Just standing naked at the light of day
A D
I wouldn't have it any other way

         G A D
Let your love fall like diamond rain
G A D
Let your love make me whole again
G A D
Let your love shine right through the night
         G A
It's all right, it's all right

Hey there, baby, welcome to the world
Sweet little hideaway girl
Long hair blowing in the tall grass wind
Like original sin
You know God moves in mysterious ways
Baby, go ahead and play
Don't worry about nobody judging you
No matter what you do

Let your love fall like diamond rain
Let your love make me whole again
Let your love shine right through the night
It's all right, it's all right

Hey there, baby, welcome to the world
Don't be a hideaway girl
Come on, baby, let your light shine down
You're the best that I ever found
Don't be nervous, honey, don't be shy
Cause there ain't no reason why
Standing naked at the light of day
Wouldn't have it any other way

The G's to A's is a walk down of sorts. I make a G chord then go down one
fret to make a G/F#m then I make an A chord. I don't know if it's right but
it sounds ok.

I have seen Jimmy play this live a few times, always without a capo. Chords are G, C9 and D. With lots of hammer ons on the G and D, and walk downs on theC9. Plays it a bit differently each time, but always sans capo. I will try to tab it one of these days. Meantime, you can watch him play it in a variety of venues and with and without a band on YouTube. Worth watching for sure. And if you can ever catch him live, I highly recommend catching the show. He is a beautiful songwriter and a darn good performer.
