Joe Nichols - Cool To Be A Fool

By axehappy - axehappy at countrytabs.com

There's a lot more going on in this song than what I've
tabbed here, but its not something I could tab out
for you...
Its something you've gotta feel....
Once you can play using the chords shown here, try and
jazz it up a bit...you'll see what I mean ;o)

C         =   x32010                   G     =   355433

C(add9)   =   x32033                   F#7   =   242322

C7        =   x32310                   F7    =   131211

D         =   xx0232                   Ab7   =   464544

E7        =   020100                   F     =   133211

Ab        =   466544                   Dm7   =   x57565

Dm7(add9) =   x57555

*************************************************************

C  G  C   C(add9) C
INTRO

G                               F#7
 Here I sit a nobody with no-one,
G                                  F#7
 Bein' me ain't really all that fun.
G
 Leavin' her wasn't very smart,

Admittin' I was wrong wouldn't be so hard.

          C
If it was cool to be a fool,
           C7
I'd be the hippest guy around.
     F7
If a heartache made you famous,

I'd be known from town to town.
   C
If tears were made of pennies,
      D
And a cold beer brought her back.
   G                Ab7
My bank account and self esteem,
      G
Would both be in the black.
        C                         E7
If some Hollywood producer made a movie that was sad,
 F                          Ab
About some guy who lost the best thing he ever had...
     Dm7     Dm7(add9)  Dm7
Hey, I could be a star,
G                       C(add9)  C
 If it was cool to be a fool.

G                                     F#7
 But we all know the way it really is,
    G                                               F#7
You don't get recognized for doin' things like this.
    G
You spend a lotta time feelin' sorry for yourself,

It doesn't really mean that much to anybody else.

          C
If it was cool to be a fool,
           C7
I'd be the hippest guy around.
     F7
If a heartache made you famous,

I'd be known from town to town.
   C
If tears were made of pennies,
      D

   G                Ab7

Would both be in the black.
        C                         E7

 F                          Ab
About some guy who lost the best thing he ever had...
     Dm7     Dm7(add9)  Dm7
Hey, I could be a star,
G                       C7
 If it was cool to be a fool.
