FAREWELL PARTY
Joe Nichols
Album: Revelation
2004, Universal South
Submitted by: Christopher R.
5:41 PM 7/1/2004

Intro: (E) (E)

When the (E) last, breath of life
Is (A) gone from, my (E) body
And my lips, are as cold as the (B) sea
When my (E) friends gather 'round
For (A) my, farewell (E) party
Won't (B) you, pretend you love (E) me

There will be (A) flowers from those
Who'll (E) cry, when I go
And leave you in this, old world a(B)lone
I (E) know you'll have fun
At my, (A) farewell (E) party
Won't (B) you, be glad, when I'm (E) gone

Steel Solo

--KEY CHANGE--

Don't (F#) be mad at me, for (B) wanting to (F#) keep you
Till my life on this old world is (C#) through
You'll be (F#) free at the end of (B) my farewell (F#) party
But (C#) I'll...I'll go away loving (F#) you

There will be (B) flowers from those
Who'll (F#) cry, when I go
And leave you in this, old world a(C#)lone
I (F#) know you'll have fun
At my, (B) farewell (F#) party
Won't (C#) you, be glad, when I'm (F#) gone

Won't (C#) you, be glad, when I'm (B) g______(Bm)__(F#)one

For Revelations check Waylon Jennings. I havent checked the chord to
see if they are exactly the same as the Joe Nickels version, but they
should be.

awesome song. Finally a young artist willing to bring back some traditional country.

Can't fault that one. My hand cramped up from the barres, but still :P

This is much easier with a capo on the 2nd fret in D. No complaints about this, but the capo is easier and sounds just as nice.
