Big River: the original lead
CD: The Man In Black Johnny Cash His Greatest Hits
This version is in F so I capo the 1st fret and play
it in E.

The other version I've tabbed is from a Highwaymen cd
and was re-recorded, I believe this is the original
but I'm not sure.

All guitars are played with the capo at the 1st fret.
the 2 on the A string is actually a C note and the 0
is actually a B-flat note.

intro: play twice

*when the lead guitar is playing this G# note
An accoustic guitar is playing a G# chord
over it. It is played like this every time
             this lick is played.

b--------- This lick is played after the 1st,
g--------- 3rd and 5th verse. It is also played twice
d--------- at the ending.

why post a tab when ur "not sure" its even right? isn't it just a waste of time for u and everyone reading it. but ya, A for effort!

As I stated, this tab comes from The Man In Black Johnny Cash His Greatest Hits CD, I don't know if it is the original Sun Studio recording or if it has been re-recorded or re-mastered. If you capo the 1st fret and play this in E, it is right.

That is somewhat close to how Cash's second guitarist, Bob Wootton, played it. Luther Perkins played on the original recording at Sun and he did it differently and, needless to say, better.
