This is the same as Cocaine Blues. I have both songs, but one just says transfusion, and the other says cocaine. but it's right, though. -macg1 | 10/25/2005 | Song: Transfusion Blues By Johnny Cash Original music and lyrics by traditional, T.J. Arnall
On audio album Now, There Was a Song! (1960)
This cover is credited to Roy Hogsed, which we think is a mistake. The confusion is probably due to the fact that Roy Hogsed had a little hit with a cover version of "Cocaine Blues". Finally, note that the song was renamed "Transfusion Blues" because cocaine was taboo. Interestingly, when Johnny Cash released this song under the original title "Cocaine Blues" in 1968 it was again credited to T.J. Arnall.

-lmofle | 10/25/2005 | Oh, cocaine was taboo? I didn't know that. People were singing about cocaine before the song.I thought it was written as transfusion blues, then Johnny changed it to cocaine blues because he thought that it sounded better.Bob Dylan has a song called cocaine blues, but they're different words. -macg1 | 12/10/2005 |
