Josh Gracin - Brass Bed

     ***Capo 1st fret***

Intro - Am7 - F - C - G = 2x's

(verse 1)
Am7 F C - G
Baby, the clock on the wall is lying
Am7 F C - G
 It's not really that late
Am7 F C
It's too cold outside to be walking around
       G
the streets of this town
Fmaj7 G
Anywhere if you think you have to be can wait

(chorus)
                      C G
(Baby) Why don't you stay with me
Am7 F
Share all your secrets tonight
        C G Am7 F
We can make believe the morning sun never will rise
        Fmaj7 C F C
Come and lay your head on this big brass bed
     Bb F Dm G Am7 - F - C - G
And we'll be alright as long as you stay with me, yeah

(verse 2)
Baby, there's just no use in hiding
The way that I am feeling right now
With you standing there baby I swear I can't help but stare
Girl you're wearing me out, wearing me out

(chorus)
       C G
Baby stay with me
Am7 F
Share all your secrets tonight
        C G Am7 F
We can make believe the morning sun never will rise
        Fmaj7 C F C
Come and lay your head on this big brass bed
     Bb F Dm G Am7
And we'll be alright as long as you stay with me,

(bridge)
 F C
Baby don't go
                                  Am7
it looks like it's starting to rain
     F C
And it's so warm here in this apartment
    G Am7 F C G Am7 - F - C - G
wrapped up in this blanket so, sta-----ay---ay---ay

(chorus)
 C G
   stay with me
Am7 F
Share all your secrets tonight
        C G Am7 F
We can make believe the morning sun never will rise
        Fmaj7 C F C
Come and lay your head on this big brass bed
     Bb F Dm G
And we'll be alright as long as you stay,
Bb F Dm G
I'll be alright as long as you stay,
    Am7 - F - C - G - Am7 - F - C - G
with me----eeee---yeah
           Am7
Stay with me

Hey Ken, This is a great tab although I think Am sounds better than Am7.
-EMRLDEYZS | 11/14/2004
Hey thanks, I've been looking everywhere for this one, it's great.
-Mrcleanandfresh | 12/9/2004
Where exactly are you chosing your chords?
F - 003211 or 133211 ?
C - 032010 or 335553 ?

it seems as though, a little tough at first, using the bar chords for these two will make it easier to progres into Fmaj7...
Not just that, but the chord will sound deeper.
just food for thought

this is a great song good job on the chords
-peaceallover | 6/30/2005
Hey Ken Great Job with this one! The guy who said using an Am sounds better obviously doesn't have an ear for music! Am7 was the right choice! Thanks again!

Josh~ ;)

all the chords sound good....the only thing is that the song is called 'stay with me'
-ncsutton | 7/28/2005

-rericg | 7/28/2005

great song, the chords are right on, great job!
-ajdrive02 | 8/3/2005
actually... Josh said in an interview that it was stay with me, then brass bed because stay with me was pretty generic... but after the album came out, but before the single dropped, he changed it back to stay with me, so people could know the song.

Nice tab... i like it, and i like this song alot.

Good tab. Thanks.

Just for those wanting to have a little fun
like me, this is played in the key of F
major and it's fun just to sit on the bottom
E string and solo with it.

Use frets 9, 11, 13, and 16 to get similar
sound to the actual song.
-SMERSH4346 | 8/8/2005
can somebody post how to play Am7 and Fmaj7? that would be great
-chi6199 | 8/17/2005
Hey I gave it a try and a key change up a whole step would sound great after where he sings the chorus quietly towards the end of the song. Up do D. Give it a try. Here are the chord for the Chorus pre> C G Am F> and after the key change /pre> D A Bm G>. If you figure the rest of the song, than you'll agree that it sounds great. But thats just my opinion! -Joe Hernandez

-tdubs34 | 9/11/2005
great tab but i think Am sounds better in the verses and Am7 better in the chorus and bridge
-nathanm6888 | 9/14/2005
I love this song. Great job with the tab. It makes it easy for a newbie like me.

-jclpn | 10/9/2005
i think its too confusing!! It needs to be easier, so people like me can play it!
-emy_ola | 10/16/2005
can't get any easier than those basic chords there...
-palamin0 | 10/17/2005
