capo is on the 2nd fret. and instead of Am C G F... its sorta like Am C/B Am/G Am/F with the pull offs. the chords are relative to the capo. its easier to play with the capo because of the pull offs on the B and A strings. also you can see an acoustic version of ryan on VH1 that is out in circulation. ryan plays the bass strings with his middle finger, when walking from the G to F... it is easier to use your thumb (b/c my fingers cant bend that far!!). good luck! -joshgarza | 7/30/2005 | I can't agree that this is easier than tuning down 1/2 step for several reasons. IF YOU ARE playing along with the recording: 1. you have introduced an F chord into the mix, which is never a favorite of beginners, 2. more importantly, since you have listed playing the intro in your tab, how do you get the low Eb that is the second note of the intro when Capo 1 in standard tuning only lets you go down to low F? IF YOU ARE NOT playing along with the recording, why not just play the same chords that are listed in the detuned submissions, but in standard tuning? The tonal deviation from the recording in that approach is only 1/2 step more than what you are proposing, and no F chord. I don't understand why there are so many tabbers who insist on going through such tonal gymnastics regarding this song. If you want to play along fully with the recording, tune down 1/2 step. If you are not playing along with the recording, and want to avoid the hassle of tuning down, play the same chords as the detuned version, but in standard tuning. -crcrcrcr | 8/8/2005 | omgosh thank you, this is so much easier than tuning down which for the life of me and my trusty guitar can't figure out! Thanks a ton! wow! :) -Crazy4KC03 | 8/27/2005 | well, you can always modify tabs so you can get the feel of a Eb by moving the rest of the strings up one fret. -boomer2006 | 5/18/2008 |
