Kris Kristofferson - Please don’t tell me how the story ends

(capo 3rd fret)

(verse 1)
 G C G
This could be our last good night together
                             D
We may never pass this way again.
 G C G C
Just let me enjoy it ’til it’s over, or forever
  G D G - D
Please don’t tell me how the story ends.

(verse 2)
 G C G
See the way our shadows come together
                                D
Softer than your fingers on my skin
G C G C
Someday these may be all we remember of each other
  G D G - G7
Please don’t tell me how the story ends.

(bridge)
 C G
Never’s just the echo of forever
  A A7 D - D7
Lonesome as a love that might have been.
G C G C
Let me go on lovin’ and believin’ ’til it’s over
  G D G
Please don’t tell me how the story ends.
  G D G
Please don’t tell me how the story ends.

I loved tghis song when sung by Ronnie Milsap, but I had no idea Kris Kristofferson had a version. This makes this song all the more enjoyable. I love his music and guitar playing. Great cords
