"Sunday Mornin' comin' Down"
"Transcribe" sanoma at onewest.net
(1)
(A)Well I woke up Sunday Mornin'with no
(G)way to hold my head that didn't(A)hurt
(A)and the beer i had for breakfast wasn't
(G)bad so i had one more for de(E)sert.
(A)Then i fumbled through my closet for my
(D)clothes and found my cleanest dirty(A)shirt.
(D)Then iwashed my hair and shaved my face,
(D)And stumbled down the stairs to meet the(E)day
(2)
Well I'd smoked my brain the night before
With cigarrettes and songs i'd been a pickin'
But i lit my first and watched a kid
Cussin' at a can that he was kicken.
The i crossed the empty street and caught
the Sunday smell of someone fryin' chicken.
And it took me back to somethin'
That i'd lost somewhere, somehow along the way.
(3)
(G)On the Sunday mornin'(D)sidewalks,wishin'lord that I was,
(A)stoned Cause there's something in a
(E)Sunday.makes a body feel a
(A)lone.And there's nothin' short of,
(G)dyin'Half as lonesome as the
(A)sound on the sleepy city
(E)sidewalks Sunday mrnin' comin'(A)down
(4)
In the park i saw a daddy
With a laughin little girl tht he was swingin'
And i stopped beside a Sunday school
And listened to the song that they were singin'
then I headed back for home
and somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin,
and it echoed through the canyon
Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday.
(repeat 3)

gh -ghogg | 10/12/2003 | I have learnt this song a few months ago now & I play at regularly when I perform. It is such a great song and so well written...like many of his others. -jpess5@telstra.com | 1/8/2004 | Has the person who made this tab even heard this song... this is way off!!! -stra4 | 1/25/2004 | Stra4 don't be a d!ck head. I don't see you putting up your version of the song. -stramblers | 8/31/2004 | In G it goes Verse G C G Em D D7 G C G Em C Em D Em D
Chorus G C G G D7 G G7 G C G G D7 C D7 G
-spellman | 10/25/2004 | rite on spellman
-cody mccabe | 11/4/2004 | spellman, your chords are basically he same chords I use. They're just about exactly the same. But for the verse, for example: when he says "I had one more for dessert", I make quick chord changes from D to D7, then G to D7, before the next line. The last line of the verse, I use C D7 C D7 G, but I found a book with this song in it, and there's an Am7 on the last line. Well, there's different versions of the song, and some of them are a little bit different from each other. -macg1 | 10/6/2005 | Why do you leave this crap on here when it's not even close to being correct? Useless filler. -diverden | 6/22/2011 |
