(D) I took a trip by (G) old Mt Sad (D) today
Shuffled down  hill on the gravel (A) road
Crossed the creek, to (G)  where we put up (D) hay
Swear I could hear the (A)  Model A under heavy (D) load

Where we busted clods, and (G) harrowed (D) smoothe
Planted corn and beans with the (A) old Model (D) A
Terraced the gulleys with (G) grass so (D) blue
Put in many (A) a twelve-hour (D) day

Old Mt Sad, it (G) hasnt changed (D) much
The winds and the rains (A) try their (D)best
To wash-out and gouge (G) waterways and (D) such
Farming Old Mt (A) Sad, there wasnt much (D) rest

But  she stands there, (G) as a (D)pillar
A reflection of  past gone (A) days
Modern day  (D) quipment (G) cannot still (D) her
A testament to (G) hard farmin (D) ways
