Do the sweet williams still wave their bright blue bands?

Does the wild parsnip still line the long fence rows?
Does Bobby Westen's donkey still kick the bucket and howl?
Are the multifloral-rose thickets still growing wild?
Can you still hear those country sounds, I heard as a child?

Do the bridge boards still rattle
When the sparse traffic goes by
Does the sunset show off the cattle
In the red-pink streaked western sky

Oh, I miss the quiet palaver
Of the old folks rocking on the porch
Thoughts and memories go on forever
As the dark night-time snuffs out the sun's torch

Are things still the same in Lake Fork Land?
I aim to get back there, as soon as I can
