My Friend

(D) Fourteen years ago
I lost my best (G) friend
He showed me how to go (D) and grow
 To be (A) true to the (D) end

Though his build was slight
He was smoothe and (G) quick
With his goals always in (D) sight
But (A) now he is gone, way too (D) quick

I see him several times a day
In the hawk that (G) soar
The leaves rustling at break of (D) day
In (A) all of the great out-(D) doors

He said my loss would fade in time
That I could handle it in the (G) end
But I truly miss that leader of (D) mine
My (A) father, my (D) friend.
