 Hands that never saw a (G) glove,

(D) Loosen tight lids (G) from mason (D) jars
(A7) Butcher hogs, stuff sausage (D) skins
(G) Home made lye soap into (D) bars
(A7) Rub scrub board, (E7) clothes so (A) thin.

(D)Pull steamy hot (G) clothes from the (D) water
(A)Bare hands wring them (D) dry
(D)Hot tin lids-- cook stove...  even(G) hotter
(A) Way too busy to wonder (D) why

(D)Days end, strong fingers milk the (G) cows
(A)Nimble fingers shape an apple (D) pie
(E7) Clean wore out apron wipes her (A) brow
(D) Warm glances from (G) corner of his (D) eye
