This song is Drop-D tuned....but I've tabbed it in standard.

Play with capo on 1st fret.
All chord names and shapes are relative to position of capo.

Asus (Bbsus) = x02230

D
INTRO

     D Gmaj6/D
They hitched up that old caravan in 1963.
      Em
They drove a big black Zephyr,
                              A
They were young and they were free.
        F#m Bm Em A
Pointed southwards on a tailwind and no particular plan,
       D Gmaj6/D
Just a young bloke and his new bride,
    Em A D
And that old caravan.

G D/F# Em D
Oh sweet memories in that flaking paint and ply,
Em Asus A
Oh those miles that rolled on by.
   G D/F# Em D
So hold her like you used to when the journey first began,
Em Asus D
Side by side in that old caravan.

    D Gmaj6/D
The day they got a flat tyre out the back of Narrabri,
Em A
Annie was a twinkle in her mother's eye.
          F#m Bm Em A
And those little interruptions oftentimes began
    D Gmaj6/D
A romantic roadside rendezvous,
   Em A D
In that old caravan.

G D/F# Em D
Oh sweet memories in that flaking paint and ply,
Em Asus A
Oh those miles that rolled on by.
   G D/F# Em D
So hold her like you used to when the journey first began,
Em Asus D
Side by side in that old caravan.

D Gmaj6/D Em A
INSTRUMENTAL

           F#m Bm
They still flick through those old photos
         Em A
Of their little growing clan,
       D Gmaj6/D
It was freedom on the wallaby
   Em A D
In that old caravan.

G D/F# Em D
Oh sweet memories in that flaking paint and ply,
Em Asus A
Oh those miles that rolled on by.
   G D/F# Em D
And he still holds her like he used to when the journey first began,
Em Asus D
Side by side in that old caravan.
    Em Asus D
Oh, side by side in that old caravan.

Well,i have never heard the song before. But i can still help you
out a little. Since the song is in D, there are only so many chords
that it can be (28 to be exact). The list of chords in the key of D
are on this page:

http://www.guitarweek.com/lessons/keys/D/index.php

just go down the list and plug in till one fits. Good luck!

As a point of interest for the Yanks..A caravan is a Trailer.

The missing chord is G and with the capo which you unfortunately you
have to use to get the same sound as on the CD)it is Ab.

That's what I thought at first....
OK then...that makes the chord what I
originally thought!!
Its a Gmaj6/D...that's what it worked as
first time, but I wasn't sure it was a G
based chord....thanks Wayne!!
