I Walk The Line
By Los Lonely Boys
Written By Johnny Cash
Tabbed By Larry Mofle
2/5/2005
This is in the recorded key of the song. It uses a shuffle rhythm with
Some cool walk down’s between the verses.
Capo 4
B E
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
B E
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
A E
I keep the ends out for the ties that bind
B E B E
Because you're mine I walk the Line
I find it very very easy to be true
I find myself alone when the day is through
Yes, I'll admit that I’m a fool for you
Because you're mine I walk the Line
Because you're mine I walk the Line
As sure as night is dark and baby, day is light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness I’ve known proves that it’s all right
Because you're mine, I walk the line
You've got a way to keep me, baby, on your side
You give me cause for the love that even I cant hide
For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide
Because you're mine, I walk the line
Because you're mine I walk the Line

They tune down a half step like SRV and other blues oriented bands and also it sounds like a blues progression so it would be which would make it A7(G#7), B7(A#7), and D7(C#7). Also, I've seen a tape of them playing this and they most definitely didn't use a capo. These guys are too good for a capo. -pickerfromWACO | 2/6/2005 | If I tab something with a capo, that is because, to be able to play along with the CD, you need to do that or change your tuning (in this case, tune down a 1/2 step). Alot of bands tune down to match the singers vocal range. Now - which is easier for the guy playing less than a year? Tuning down or a capo?
And using a capo has nothing to do with your skill as a musician.
-lmofle | 2/6/2005 | well, using a capo may not have anything to do with how good YOU are, but a lot of the people charting songs with a capo are just trying to avoid learning how to transpose to different keys... in other words they are just trying to learn every song out of "open position" chords so they dont have to go past page 3 of the Mel Bay chord book.... don't do that... learn some bar chords... there is NO WAY you can play in a band with other singers telling you what key to play in, where you can keep up, if you are always having to hunt a capo or move one around or figure out... "he's singing in Db so I put the capo where??? don't do that...
-georgeb1954 | 2/7/2005 | wile I realize that getting a certain sound like SRV may be difficult without TUNING DOWN to Eb etc... I do not beleive that you can "get that sound" by putting on a stinking capo"... and no BANDS dont retune all the time.... us working guys do a little something I like to call TRANSPOSING TO DIFFERENT KEYS....
Further, if it aint about skill why are you talking about "players... less that a year"... what new players don't need is to develop a lot of bad habits and shortcuts that will keep them at the level of a "bedroom player" with no hope of ever getting above that... -georgeb1954 | 2/7/2005 | Not going to get sucked into a difference of opinion. I tab for the beginner - for the guy who normally would go out and pay $14.50 for a Los Lonely Boys (or insert fav bands name) book - if I do it here, they won't have to.
I know how to transpose - I tab for the guy that can't form the Eb - I imagine there really isn't a reason for you to be on the site, George, since you know how to play all these songs. I guess i am baffled as to why you would come to a tab site if you already know everything?
-lmofle | 2/7/2005 | what album is this on? -ruger9 | 2/18/2005 |
