"Moon Is Almost Full"
by Mike McClure
EverythingUpsideDown

capo 5

intro: C, Am, F, G, C x 3

C Am
My lady left her lamplight burning praying for my safe return
     F G C
In a moment I'll be nothing more than gone
         C Am
Well the highway turns and burns its greed fulfilling every sinner's need
F G C
Slowly turning pilgrims into pawns
   C Am
So I'm out the door and in my truck she wishes me the best of luck
    F G C
And waves as I pull down the drive
    C Am
And I'm swallowed up into the night safe behind these dashboard lights
F G C
I thank God that somehow I'm still alive

Chorus
Am G C
And the moon is almost full tonight
Am G C F
I can see for miles and miles beneath its light
         F G C
Yeah the coyotes must be crazy down in the countryside
Am G C
And my heart it is on fire it seems
Am G C F
Burning images of my old childhood dreams
         F G
And they swell like an angel born in flight
                        C
Like the moon is almost full tonight

first interlude: C, Am, F, G, C x 2

         C Am
Well the night cruised by in awesome wonder cast beneath the rolling thunder
     F G C
As I cut a path across these golden fields
C Am
Thoughts of her go floating backwards hoping happy ever afters
    F G C
And raindrops from heavens rafters are on my windshield
C Am
Well lets turn into a new day darling try to hear your own heart calling
    F G C
The time is now there is no time to wait
C Am
Follow on that path you've chosen slowly melting come unfrozen
F G C
Releave your guard of its duty at your gate

Chorus
Am G C
And the moon is almost full tonight
Am C G F
I can see for miles and miles beneath its light
         F G C
Yeah the coyotes must be crazy down in the countryside
Am G C
And my heart it is on fire it seems
Am G C F
Burning images of my old childhood dreams
         F G
And they swell like an angel born in flight
                        C
Like the moon is almost full tonight

Solo: Am for six bars and then F, G into the intro

C Am
My lady left her lamplight burning praying for my safe return
     F G C
In a moment I'll be nothing more than gone

Great tab. An alternate way to play (in the same key), is to go capo 1, then play an E progression (E, C#m, A, B). Doing this allows for the intro harmonics (natural harmonics on fret 12 (relative to capo) on high E and B strings) and for the solo lick going into the chorus played similarly to below (going from memory, apologies if not spot on):

Capo 1
